THE PENULTIMATE DAY.

Well dear reader, this is gradually ending, from going very slowly to passing the days too quickly, and in one step we are almost at the end, today the penultimate day was celebrated. With not many games, but always very interesting things, it is not necessary so much quantity but the quality of the details that one sees and of the people who carry it on the courts and off them.

That said, dear reader, today I was watching two junior doubles matches, one for the women’s wheelchair and some for the men’s. Before getting down to business, let me add that I am surprised by the general low influx at Wimbledon this year, barely “queue” and poor baggage, where even for tomorrow’s final, until the day that Raonic managed to access the final, He walked by where the training tracks and nobody knew him, asked who was he? Example that outside the top4, almost nobody knows the rest and this in the future will have consequences, and not positive ones, for the life of tennis.

Going back to today’s competition, I first watched the junior men’s doubles match between Felix Auger-Aliassime (CAN) / Denis Shapovalov (CAN) against Miomir Kecmanovic (SRB) / Casper Ruud (NOR), the truth to be honest, from the training I already began to see enough details, way of behaving, transmission of security, plant, poise, … apart from the fact that I  had already seen the Serbian / Norwegian couple before, and was aware that the potential was not so tall, but above all, Kecmanovic sometimes had gestures of lack of humility and respect for the rival, mainly I think, a way of hiding his internal insecurity.

In front of two players that I had not seen and that from the first moment they stepped on the track, I was struck by, the security, the poise, corpulence, the conviction of what they do, ….. etc, even when observing the different way of sitting and taking breaks between games and others, with all the details that that includes, it was very surprising, ultimately, how things would work. I would remember very well both names Felix Auger Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov , the second much more than the first, in fact the second, he is close to winning the individual Junior Wimbledon too, tomorrow he can win both.

Later, I saw a match of the third round of the women’s individual in a wheelchair, between two Dutch Jiskie Griffien against   Aniek Van Koot , besides previously I saw a bit of a men’s doubles in wheelchairs as well, the truth is I find it interesting to see this discipline, always leaves you thinking and grateful, however what surprises me the most is that after all the personal things that these players have had to go through, the climate on the pitch is somewhat tense, and in my opinion they do not have , a broader perspective, of breathing and connection with everything that surrounds, in any way, like adapted tennis standing, they are an example of life.

Regarding the top professionals, I did not see the women’s final, so I cannot and should not talk about it, nor doubles either, where in the men’s category, France has very good couples with very good energy on and off the slopes, I have lived it in person, in mixed a British is in the final, Henri Kontinen / Heather Watson . The only thing I saw a bit, through the screen, was the women’s doubles final between Timea Babos / Yaroslava Shvedova against Serena Williams / Venus Williams , the little time I saw, the smiles of the Hungarian and the Kazakh, on the one hand it is very good, but if they are of type, well it is what it is, there is at least faith and intention that it can be, difficult to defeat two walls, solid, consistent like the – Williams.

Double congratulations to Serena , her attitude on and off the court, we do not realize how positive that is, what influences your day to day and what you project later on the court with your game and why Last in the results accompany, you must learn much more to listen, observe and learn humbly, without the need to idolize or generate legends, than humanly athletes, in the end, people, which is what they are also, teach the world through his public work. Really Bravo Serena! . Hopefully one day, I could have a relaxed and loose chat with someone with as much tennis and human transgression as Serena, to talk about that of Tennis and life, it would be rich in internal growth. Pure example with the good and the bad.

Let’s enjoy the last day tomorrow. Go for it!.

Faithfully with affection,
A lover & respectful of the values and spirits of whatever sport but specially The hidden on tennis .
